Apex Legends MARKED Midseason Patch Notes: The Skimmable Version

Split 2 starts September 15, 2026. The ranked map pool changes to World's Edge, Olympus and Broken Moon, EA confirmed it is detecting controller cheats on every platform, and Conduit, Fuse, Catalyst and Bloodhound are buffed. Skim the bold bits and you are caught up in two minutes.

Quick answer: The ranked headline: two of the three ranked maps change for Split 2, which now runs World's Edge, Olympus and Broken Moon, and six ranked ladders run from September 22 to November 1. In the meta, Conduit, Fuse and Catalyst get reworked upgrades, while the Axle and Seer nerfs were already live from the August 25 hotfix.

Editor's note: This is an Apex Ranked summary of the official EA/Respawn MARKED midseason patch notes, rewritten to be quick to scan. EA published these notes without screenshots, so the artwork is EA's own Season 30 art. The official source is linked at the bottom.

Ranked in Split 2: New Maps and Six Ladders

The one thing to remember: two of the three ranked maps are different in Split 2. The drop spots and rotations you learned on Storm Point and E-District no longer apply.

Split 2 starts Sep 15 2026
Ranked maps 3 World's Edge, Olympus, Broken Moon
Ranked ladders 6 September 22 to November 1
Ladder length 5 days Tuesday to Sunday, same as Split 1
Ranked map pool, Split 1 compared with Split 2
Map Split 1 Split 2
World's Edge Yes Yes
Storm Point Yes No
E-District Yes No
Olympus No Yes
Broken Moon No Yes
Split 2 ranked ladder schedule, straight from the patch notes
Ladder Starts Ends
Ladder 1 September 22, 2026 September 27, 2026
Ladder 2 September 29, 2026 October 4, 2026
Ladder 3 October 6, 2026 October 11, 2026
Ladder 4 October 13, 2026 October 18, 2026
Ladder 5 October 20, 2026 October 25, 2026
Ladder 6 October 27, 2026 November 1, 2026

EA lists the ladders as coming later this split, so the first one starts a week after Split 2 opens. Pubs use the same three maps as ranked.

Why it matters for climbing: map knowledge resets. Re-scout your drop and your first rotation on Olympus and Broken Moon before Ladder 1 on September 22, or you give up easy placement points in the first week.

Anti-Cheat: EA Is Detecting Controller Cheats on Every Platform

EA confirmed new systems that detect unauthorized controller hardware and software on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2. Players who trigger them may be banned after review.

EA says the systems went in during the lead-up to Split 2, after several months of validation to make sure they identify prohibited behaviour accurately. It is explicit that playing on console does not exempt anyone from detection or enforcement.

EA calls this "just the beginning" and says it will keep improving the systems as cheating methods change. It also says it is working to remove cheaters at every level of play, including the highest ranks, and thanks players who report suspicious behaviour.

Our own ban tracker flagged 136 PlayStation accounts in a single sweep on September 10, which falls in the lead-up EA describes. You can check the current list on the Apex Ranked bans page.

Ranked read: accounts removed for cheating come off the ladder, so the Predator cutoff and the top of each ladder should better reflect real play as enforcement continues.

Legend Buffs: Conduit, Fuse, Catalyst and Bloodhound

These are utility and upgrade reworks, not raw damage buffs. Conduit, Fuse and Catalyst all get brand new upgrades, and Bloodhound gets small sonar tweaks on top of the August hotfix.

The biggest change for each buffed Legend
Legend Headline change
Conduit Ultimate deploys and activates much faster, and can be aimed in a forward line.
Fuse Knuckle Jump at base, plus 25% explosive damage resistance.
Catalyst Tactical cooldown 20s to 15s, and her Ultimate raises much faster.
Bloodhound Sonar snapshots fade faster and clear when you see the tracked player.
Full detail, Legend by Legend
Legend Abilities Upgrades
Conduit Tactical shows a preview on the shield bar of how much Temp Shield you will get. Ultimate fires faster, can toggle to a forward line, warns when jammers would break, and jammers spawn higher, tighter and activate much faster. Battpack and Bigger Jam removed. New Concurrency (level 2): refire Energy Barricade once with no cooldown within 10s, with 2 fewer jammers. New Jammed Up (level 2): jammers get a 25% larger radius and jam the HUD of enemies they damage for 10s.
Fuse Passive adds 25% explosive damage resistance and highlights ordnance within 30m. Tactical: Knuckle Jump at base, jumping no longer cuts the cooldown, less jump momentum, much faster return to guns, and you can ADS to zoom. Ultimate raises slightly faster, lands more responsively, explodes faster and has less damage falloff. Knuckle Jumper and Wreckless removed. Reignition moves from level 3 to level 2, with Ultimate recharge reduced from 1s per 2 to 1s per 3 explosive damage. Pyro Techniques flame radius doubled. New Big Bang (level 3): Knuckle Cluster explosions cover 50% more area. New Sticky Bomb (level 3): the projectile is 25% larger, sticks to enemies, and every 7 hits cuts Knuckle Cluster cooldown by 1s.
Catalyst No longer immune to other Catalysts. Tactical auto-reinforces or rebuilds doors, cooldown 20s to 15s, taller spikes, and the projectile now damages enemies. Ultimate fires much faster, and allies are no longer slowed or blinded walking through it. Sole Piercer removed. Hidden Spikes moves to level 3. Resilient Veil and Ferro-Door move to level 2. Ferro-Door raises max reinforced doors from 4 to 6. Resilient Veil cuts Ultimate cooldown from 150s to 120s. New Ferro-Frenzy (level 3): one extra spike, 50% smaller but with faster tick damage.
Bloodhound New this patch: sonar snapshots fade faster and disappear more readily when you see the head of the snapshot or the tracked player. Already live from the August 25 hotfix: less cloak visibility in the dome, ring damage no longer drops cloak, 1 extra second on scans, and more frequent snapshots. No upgrade changes.

Ranked read: Catalyst's shorter Tactical and faster Ultimate help most in endgames, where holding a building decides placement. EA says Fuse stays an explosives expert first, not a movement Legend, even with Knuckle Jump at base.

Legend Nerfs: Axle and Seer (Already Live Since August 25)

Nothing new here. Both nerfs shipped in the August 25 hotfix, and this patch documents them. If you have played since late August, you already know this meta.

Nerfs, all from the August 25 hotfix
Legend What changed
Axle Nitro Gate launch speed 750 to 700. Ultimate HP 200 to 150, base cooldown 90s to 120s, knockback arc widened with a lower max height, and stun cut from 1.5s to 0.25s. Jump Gate is replaced by Drone Deployer, which brings the cooldown back to 90s.
Seer Removed the turn slow on enemies hit by his Tactical.

Ranked read: the Kickstart drone is much easier to shoot down and escape, so Axle fights are less likely to end in a free knock.

Loot and Weapons: More Healing, Better Drops, Three Guns Buffed

Healing was scarcer than intended, so there is more of it. Empty bins are much rarer, and your first bin can now roll any base weapon.

Healing More Before and after bin resets
Empty bins Much rarer Updated bin logic
Weapon Assist Any base gun Was pistols, shotguns and Alternator only
Ammo Slightly less Before bin resets

Bin resets are closer to their pre-Season 30 version again, with more items per bin and more healing, ammo, survival slot items and amps. Weapon Assist is what you get when you open your first bin of the match with no weapon, and it can now spawn any base weapon.

Weapon buffs
Weapon Buff
Triple Take Faster fire rate while aiming down sights. Blue magazine 8 to 9.
Bocek Compound Bow Arrow stockpile 40 to 60, explosive arrows per energize 7 to 10. Sparrow's Quiver: 50 to 70 and 9 to 12.
Charge Rifle Max-distance damage 99 to 110, with max damage beyond 200m. Selectfire damage penalty 40% to 25%.

The Executioner locked hop-up now costs 275 to unlock, down from 375, because shotgun damage is too inconsistent to unlock it as easily as a full-auto gun. The Agile Standard Stock fix, which stopped Gibraltar and Mad Maggie stacking extra movement speed, was already hotfixed.

Ranked read: more healing means fewer late fights lost to running out of meds, and three long-range weapons get more viable for holding angles in endgames.

Maps, Wildcard, Audio and Everything Else

Over 150 map quality-of-life fixes, mostly on World's Edge, plus a new toggle to mute talking weapon skins.

Map rotations for Split 2
Mode Maps
Pubs World's Edge, Olympus, Broken Moon
Ranked World's Edge, Olympus, Broken Moon
Wildcard Kings Canyon, Olympus, District
Mixtape TDM (Sep 15 to Nov 3) Fragment, Skull Town, Monument, Estates
Mixtape Control (Sep 15 to Nov 3) Production Yard, Labs, Barometer, Caustic
Mixtape Gun Run (Sep 15 to Nov 3) Monument, Estates, Fragment, Skull Town

The map fixes smooth out sticky collisions, fill holes that swallowed loot and Legends, close several rat spots, and clean up clipping with Alter's Ultimate. On World's Edge, East Village gets a terrain hole fixed and adjusted cover, and Monument and Fragment get missing railings back.

Audio adds a menu option to switch off weapon dialogue if you own a talking weapon skin from the Cyberpunk collaboration, and fixes overly loud interiors on Olympus and E-District. In Wildcard, EVO earned while you have no weapon now counts toward the first weapon you equip.

Worth noting: Mixtape runs September 15 to November 3, the clearest public hint at how long Split 2 lasts. EA does not state a split end date in these notes.
