Respawn is now detecting controller cheats on every platform
Respawn’s September 2, 2026 enforcement update confirms new detection systems for unauthorized controller
hardware and software on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2. Accounts that trigger the new detections
are actioned and banned. Respawn says the systems were validated over several months and will keep expanding as
cheating methods evolve.

SOURCE@ApexLiveComms on X, September 2, 2026. Figures are Respawn’s, as of posting. The tables above are what ApexRanked detects independently on the ranked ladders.
Apex encodes a permanent ban as a ban timer more than a year long. When a tracked account’s timer exceeds one year it is recorded as a permaban. These rows do not clear when the name reappears on a ladder; only the timer dropping back to zero clears them.
Flagged
An account holding 16,000+ RP that was seen on the top ladder this split and then dropped off it after a later refresh. The history and refresh-order checks are what exclude accounts that simply have not queued ranked yet.
Cleared
If a flagged account returns to the ranked ladder, the flag is marked cleared and moves to the cleared table with the time it came back. A cleared flag is not counted as a ban.
Disclaimer: false positives are possible. This Season 30 Split 2 Apex Legends ban list is for educational use only and is not an official EA or Respawn source.
A flag records that an account left the tracked ladder in a way the detector treats as suspicious; it is not proof of a ban.
FAQ
APEX BANS QUESTIONS
What is the Apex bans tracker?
A public ApexRanked page listing accounts flagged as suspected removals from the Split 2 ranked ladders, kept separate from flags that cleared when the account came back.
Is this an official Apex Legends ban list?
No. ApexRanked is not EA or Respawn. This page shows public tracker signals and separates active flags from cleared flags when an account returns to the ranked ladder.
Was there an Apex Legends ban wave?
Yes. On September 2, 2026 Respawn announced new controller-cheat detection on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2, reporting 8,609 cheating bans in seven days, including 290 DMA bans, 76 Titan Controller bans and 96 Predator-level bans over two weeks. Earlier, on June 17, 2026, a new detection removed 1,000 accounts in its first week, with targeted top-100 checks banning 79 console and 7 PC accounts.
Why can a flag clear?
Some flags come from a player disappearing from the ranked ladder. If that player later returns to the ladder, ApexRanked marks the flag as cleared instead of treating it as a confirmed ban.
Can I report an Apex cheater on ApexRanked?
No. ApexRanked no longer accepts or forwards player reports. Use EA’s official reporting process to report suspected cheating. Read the notice →
