Apex Legends ranked resets at the end of every split and every season. The split countdown, when the next ranked reset lands, where you get placed, and what happens to your RP and your badge.
How Apex ranked reset timing works
Each season has two ranked splits. At the split change your RP drops back on a fixed table; at a new season you are placed again from your hidden ranked MMR. The ladder starts over either way, so the Predator race begins again from zero.
What to watch before a reset
Before a reset, check three numbers: the time left in the split, where the Predator cutoff sits, and how much RP you still need for the rank you are chasing.
If you are close to the line, watch the countdown and cutoff together. A cutoff that is still moving fast means you may need extra RP beyond the current number before the split ends.

When does Apex ranked reset?
Season 30 ends on November 3, 2026, per Respawn's October 6, 2026 update notes, and ranked resets into the next season then. Season 31 is set to start Tue, Nov 3 at 10 AM PST, expected (18:00 UTC); Respawn has not posted the exact hour, and Apex seasons normally launch at 10 AM Pacific.
What should I watch before reset?
The time left in the split, the live Predator cutoff, and how far your RP is from the next rank floor.
Are Apex ranked rewards based on my highest rank or my final rank?
Your highest rank. Since Season 21 (Upheaval), EA's patch notes say end-of-season rewards are determined by the highest Rank tier you achieved during the entire season, so dropping late in the split does not lower your badge.
Where do you get placed when Apex ranked resets?
At a new season EA places you in a tier from your hidden Ranked MMR (players new to Ranked use their Unranked Trios MMR), so two friends who finished on the same rank can start in different tiers. The mid-season split reset uses a fixed table instead: EA's ranked help article lists, for example, Gold IV to I resetting to Gold IV at 5,750 RP. Per-season numbers come in each season's patch notes.
When does Season 31 Split 2 start?
Respawn has not announced the Season 31 split dates yet. EA says the full Season 31 patch notes arrive on November 2, 2026, the day before the season launches; split dates usually appear there, and this page is updated when they do.
How do I get the animated ranked badge?
Per EA's Season 21 (Upheaval) patch notes, your season-end badge is animated if you match your Split 1 rank in Split 2. If you do not, you get the normal version of the badge.
