The Apex ranked ladder is a live ordering of players by RP within the active split. Once players reach the ladder-only tier, placement starts to matter as much as pure RP.

Why Apex Predator needs a ladder place, not just RP
Apex Predator has no RP target of its own. Reaching 16,000 RP makes you Master; Apex Predator is the top 750 players on each platform above that line, so the cutoff moves whenever the players around it gain or lose RP.
